The Ship of Shells – Guandu, Weaving Water

Shell, sticky rice flour, rice flour, lacquer, ash, shell powder / H0.5m × W0.3m × D4m / Co-create Nakamura Ayaka / Guandu International Nature Art Festival / Taipei, Taiwan / 2018

The freshwater shells collected by the volunteers from the mud in the pond of Guandu Nature Park were like shining treasures, these well-protected shells in Guandu Nature Park are a symbol of water purification. I used rice glue, as it can be touched with bare hands freely. I felt like weaving the shells with water.
